WEEE Regulations

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive became law in the UK on 1st January 2014. This legislation requires distributors, producers and retailers to provide a system which allows customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. As a producer of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) we are registered members and our registration number is WEE/MM5845AA.

Lightsource is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us. The cost of returning the items will not be paid by Lightsource and for this reason you may find it more convenient and cost effective to take the item to your local recycling centre.

Products covered by the WEEE Regulations have a crossed out wheelie bin symbol either on the product itself or its packaging. Please do not throw away any item marked with the crossed out wheelie bin symbol in your household waste and please do not attempt to repair any electrical products yourself as this is a job for a qualified electrician.
