The Kelvin

Lightsource was commissioned to develop a comprehensive lighting scheme for The Kelvin office building, encompassing private meeting spaces, open-plan offices, and shared social areas. The brief centered on creating a cohesive and refined lighting language that would support a variety of working and social functions while reinforcing the building’s overall sense of quality and professionalism.

Within the boardroom, a calm and focused atmosphere was achieved through a layered lighting approach, combining recessed downlights with carefully positioned wall lighting to deliver balanced, glare-free illumination.

Across the wider building, lighting was carefully tailored to each environment, providing comfortable, efficient illumination for office areas, while adopting a softer, more relaxed approach within social spaces to encourage interaction and wellbeing. Throughout, the scheme remains understated and architectural, allowing light to subtly define each space while creating a unified visual experience across the building.
