Lightsource’s Design Team was commissioned to deliver the lighting design and specification for this highly interactive museum in Strokestown. With immersive displays combining audio, visual and touch-screen elements, the lighting was carefully developed to enhance the visitor experience while integrating seamlessly with the exhibition design.
A key requirement of the scheme was the coordination of lighting with programmed sequences, allowing fittings to dim and brighten in sync with display pauses and audio-visual features. This level of control supports guided tours and ensures each exhibit is experienced as intended.
The final design incorporates a mix of recessed and suspended track with adjustable LED spotlights, alongside high-output LED strips integrated within display furniture to create visual depth and emphasis. Bespoke suspended linear fittings were positioned above display tables, providing focused highlights that draw attention to key points of interest throughout the exhibition.
