Ballyhackamore

For this beautiful period home in Ballyhackamore, the client approached Lightsource’s Design Team for a lighting plan to complement their kitchen and lounge refurbishment. The design successfully blended the home’s original period features with the client’s modern aesthetic.

In the kitchen, two large, surface-mounted fittings create a striking focal point over the island without compromising ceiling height. We used Lightsource’s own downlights, featuring a minimal white trim and low-glare illumination, to maintain a clean, contemporary, and comfortable atmosphere.

The modern, sophisticated feel extends into the dining and lounge area. A matching pendant and wall light were chosen for their timber laminated finish and contrasting black diffuser, providing a subtle, reflected light that contributes to a warm, inviting ambience. The stunning teal TV unit is accentuated by a combination of pin downlights and LED strip lighting, casting a soft glow to highlight the decorative objects within. The ceiling is kept clean and clutter-free, with a simple floor lamp in the corner completing this cosy TV room.
