Agemar Headquarters – Linea Light ‘Paseo’

A Flagship of Light – Agemar Headquarters

‘Set your course by the stars, not by the lights of every passing ship’. But, for one of the most impressive building designs of 2018, the Anangel Maritime Group’s: Agemar Headquarters, Athens, a ship-themed building is one of the most beautifully lit buildings that you just can not pass without staring at.

The building is 30,000sqm, curved in shape with minimal squared areas, so the challenge to light must have been great.

From the street level the light fixtures are unseen, and from buildings close by and with high vantage points, the building at night looks like a lit ship.

Its first award was a platinum certification from LEED: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, for the buildings Façade lighting. Ticking boxes for being ‘green’, but also being downright impressive, yet discreet at the same time.

Linea Light Group custom Paseo LED light

The lighting designers used a custom ‘Paseo’ LED fixture from our brand partner Linea Light Group. A linear bar customised in both its dimensions and optics to accommodate the irregular shape of the buildings architecture and non-continuous power demands.

Paseo asymmetrical optics and upward lighting

On the lower floors, Paseo with asymmetrical optics and upward lighting was installed within the recesses of the marble aprons of the floors. The light was projected with a half outward direction, which decreased glare so that employees working inside were not affected.

Congratulations to the team’s at Eleftheria, Linea Light Group & architects Sparch. What a stunning building.

Got a project that the ‘Paseo’ linear light system would work well with, please email sales@thelightsource.co.uk and we can assist you with your architectural lighting requirements.
